Princess Moana

It's a hot summer's day and boy am I tired!  I've been looking for something to help with the monotony of summer and work. Over a year ago we had a goal. `I'm going with Maria to look at puppies after work. She's wanted one for a while and I've held her off for a while but now she's getting more insistent.

We IM'd back and forth.
Me: "Let's go get a puppy today!"
Maria: "OK Let's"
Me:  Do you have any likely prospects?"
Maria:  Just the ones  where mommy is Cane Corso and daddy is German Shepherd mix."
Me:  Five minutes baby!:
Maria: "YAY!
Me: That's fine for me baby. I love German Shepherds.  They're smart and caring."

After work we left in our Protege and headed westward to the address we were given.  We found the house and knocked.  Nothing would surprise me today except for the puppy that I met that day.  I remember the man's name was Raphael.  I shook his hand and he took Maria and I to a large dog kennel in his dining room.  I saw the babies and knew mine was among them.
When I opened the cage and reached in, I was surprised that one of the puppies jumped straight to my hand.  she moaned.  This was the one!  This was the puppy I wanted and I think the one that Maria was looking for. Its almost like she was telling me that she wanted me and was waiting just for me.  Of course I knew better because dogs can't talk and puppies know even less. My relationship with the puppy was like I was always meant to find her.  She quickly became my best friend and my confidant. She was smart. So smart I only had to tell her to sit once. She's done it ever since.  She has her preferences but overall I'm it.  Sometimes I could almost swear she could understand everything I say.

She is my best friend and confidant.   She knows when I'm not feeling well. She knows when I'm feeling good too.  She stays in step with me and nobody else and prefers to practically wash me with her tongue.

She's princess Moana. One day on our way home Moana was sitting between the front seats sniffing the world as we went by through the front vents when I told her, "Moany is Pretty!  Moany is a pretty princess!!"
She sat bolt upright, and smiled just like she was saying , "I Know!"

That is Princess Moana!
